Arrrr you ready for Gasparilla?

With Gasparilla just around the corner, we at Just Pull It have pirates on the mind! This is a nice break from thinking about affordable extractions.

Close your eyes and think of a pirate – what do you see? Peg leg, triangle hat, gold tooth, or even no teeth? There is a reason this look is so commonly associated with pirates.

Although pirates are often thought of as having a fun life with many adventures, the reality is that they would have suffered while at sea. Sailors spent many long months away from land, fresh food, and dental care – not to mention, they lived during a time when there was no modern dentistry to help them with their painful teeth.

To some, escaping into a tropical oasis may seem like a dream, but it left pirates with many different diseases like dysentery, yellow fever, gangrene, and especially scurvy – which comes from a diet lacking vitamin C, and can make your teeth fall out!

When they were healthy, pirates were not often found brushing or flossing. In fact, they wouldn’t have even had a toothbrush. They may have had something called a “chewing stick,” a small stick that would fray and create a bristle, but needless to say this was not very effective.

Pirates could have really used a Just Pull It! Our easy, fast, safe and affordable visits for painful, problem teeth could have saved them a lot of suffering. While we can’t go back in time, we can still help you. Give us a call to schedule your same-day extraction at 352-833-PULL (7855). Let us help you get out of pain and return to your normal life or go to Gasparilla, whichever you choose!

There are hundreds of interesting facts about pirates – more than we could ever share. While we are not participating in the festivities at Gasparilla this year, we are proud to call the Tampa Bay area our home, and privately celebrate the invasion of the bay amongst our friends and families.

What do you think? Would you want to be a pirate?
