What is IV Conscious Sedation?
IV (Intravenous) Conscious Sedation uses safe, fast-acting medication delivered through a small IV line. You stay conscious but deeply relaxed — able to respond to simple instructions while we handle the rest. Unlike hospital general anesthesia, IV sedation does not put you fully asleep and doesn't require a breathing tube, making it safer and faster to recover from.
Patients choose sedation because it:

- • Allows multiple or complex extractions in one visit
- • Helps you feel relaxed, safe, and cared for throughout
A Two-Visit Process
Sedation cannot be completed on the first visit. Here's how it works.
$49 Consult (D0330 + D0140)
Includes a panoramic X-ray (D0330) and limited evaluation (D0140). We'll confirm IV conscious sedation is a safe option for you, review your health history, and schedule your sedation appointment.
IV Conscious Sedation Appointment · +$399
IV conscious sedation is an add-on of $399 in addition to extraction fees ($299 routine D7140 / $399 wisdom D7210). Scheduled in advance — never same-day. You'll need a responsible adult driver who stays in the office for the entire visit.
Before Your Sedation Visit
Follow these instructions exactly. Failure to follow them may result in cancellation of your procedure.
- No food or drink (including water) for 6–8 hours before your visit.
- Avoid alcohol, marijuana, or narcotics for at least 48 hours prior.
- Take prescribed medications only as directed by your doctor.
- Bring a responsible adult driver who stays in the office the whole appointment.
- If you're pregnant or may be, sedation cannot be performed for safety reasons.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Sedation appointments require extensive preparation — staff coordination, clinical setup, and reserved time. Because of this:
- • All sedation and extraction fees are nonrefundable if canceled or broken within 48 hours.
- • You may reschedule once within 30 days of your original date.
- • After 30 days, your deposit is forfeited and a new payment is required to rebook.
If IV sedation isn't right for you, we also offer local anesthesia only. Our office does not provide oral or general anesthesia but can coordinate a referral if needed.
